Katelyn 1986 - 2008

I'm so sad to say that my cousin's daughter, died this morning three years after receiving a double lung transplant. She was born 22 years ago with Cystic Fibrosis and didn't let it hold her back. One of the last times I saw her was at a horse show. She had a pony that she raced on and I swear that she could make it fly, they moved so fast! She was an incredibly talented equestrian.

In 2004 she was listed in Teen People magazine as one of the 20 Teens Who Will Change the World, it is definitely a better place for her having been here. Here she is in an episode of Seventh Heaven talking about her transplant and raising awareness about CF. And now I'm going to go hug my kids and count my blessings.

What we're doing today

We just finished setting up the Christmas trees. Here's the one in my sons room, we just put the finishing touches on it. Happy Holiday season to you all!

San Antonio here I am!

Sorry I've been unavailable for the last couple of weeks, my husband got a great job offer in San Antonio in the middle of August and we decided to act quickly and get the kids registered in school in San Antonio since the school year started this week. We hopped in the car and spent a week looking for houses before we found the perfect one, then came back to Bossier and packed up some supplies to keep us going for a few weeks and turned right around and got the kids back in time to start school here on Monday. My head is still spinning!

I still have weddings scheduled in Shreveport/Bossier through next June, so will be in town plenty if you would like to set up an appointment, my schedule will not be as flexible as it was though.

Bridal portraits

This picture reminds me of why I love doing bridal portraits. A bridal portrait is a test run.... it gives you a chance to make sure you like the way your hair and makeup come together PRIOR to the wedding, before it is too late to change it! How do you LOVE that poof behind my head?! That is not how it sat on my head when I tried it on when we bought it in the shop, but that is how my hair dresser made it fit that day, and I didn't want to say anything, she was a friend of the family and was doing it for free.... Boy, the things I have learned over the course of time!

I always include a complimentary bridal session in every wedding package, this gives you the chance to do a test run with your hair and makeup and gives us a chance to see how to best photograph you, when we can take our time and not have to worry that the ceremony is about to start.
